Witness: Defining Conservation Photography

02 | Synopsis

The International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP) is a U.S.-based non-profit organization whose mission is to further environmental and cultural conservation through photography.

Notable anthropologist Jane Goodall, past National Geographic Editor-at-Large Michael “Nick” Nichols, and International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP) founding president Cristina Mittermeier—among other National Geographic visual storytellers—share candid thoughts on the power of photography and its value as an effective conservation tool. Stunning photographic contributions accompany the short film from over 40 conservation photographers.

This documentary film was inspired by “Conservation Photography,” a thesis by Carlton Ward, Jr.
